Drift Boss came out in 2019, developed by MarketJS, and it fits squarely into the arcade driving genre. It isn’t a racing simulator or a full car game with gears and speedometers. Instead, it takes the single idea of drifting and turns it into a one-button challenge. The setup is simple, but that’s what makes it so addictive—you always feel like you can do a little better on the next run.
The car moves on its own, and the only control you have is deciding when to drift. Press the spacebar or click the left mouse button to swing the car into a corner. A quick tap makes a short turn, while holding the button keeps the car drifting longer. It sounds easy, but the track is narrow and full of sudden bends that will send you flying if your timing is off.
Along the way, the road also has bumps and dips that shift your momentum. Coins appear on the track too, and while they’re tempting, going for them at the wrong moment can cost you the run. Those coins are useful though—you can unlock new cars or buy boosters that change how your runs play out.
The first thing to remember is not to panic. The game starts out slower, giving you a chance to feel the rhythm of the corners. When the pace picks up, short controlled taps usually work better than holding the drift too long.
Don’t chase every coin you see. Survival always comes first, and risky coin grabs often end in failure. Collect what you can safely and save up for boosters, since they can really help once you’re aiming for higher scores.
