TenTrix

TenTrix first came out in 2015, created by the indie studio Veewo Games. It falls into the puzzle/strategy genre, but compared to fast-paced classics like Tetris, this one feels more relaxed. You’re not rushing to catch falling pieces. Instead, you get a handful of blocks and decide exactly where to place them on a wide 10x10 grid. The whole experience is slower, calmer, and built around planning moves rather than reacting under pressure—which is why so many players keep coming back to it.

Playing the Game

Every round starts with three random block shapes lined up at the bottom of the screen. You drag them onto the grid, place all three, and then a new set appears. Shapes come in all sorts: long straight lines, chunky squares, and awkward L pieces that always seem to show up when you least want them.

The main rule is simple—complete a row or column to clear it. But the board fills up fast, and once you run out of space for the next piece, it’s game over. That’s where the strategy comes in: you have to keep the board open, clear space whenever possible, and think a couple of moves ahead.

Smart Ways to Last Longer

Don’t just drop pieces wherever they fit first. Glance at all three and ask yourself, “What happens after I place this?” Keeping one eye on the future helps avoid dead ends.

It’s also smart to leave room for the long line blocks. They’re rare but incredibly powerful, often wiping out several rows at once. Corners can be tricky too—if you block them early, you’ll struggle later with bigger shapes. And if you can set up combos that clear multiple rows in one move, you’ll rack up points while opening huge sections of the board.

Try These Next

Fans of TenTrix usually enjoy other puzzle-style challenges too:

  • Blocky Rush – slide blocks across the board and clear rows before the screen fills.

  • Bricky Blast – a block-drop puzzle with quick decisions and satisfying clears.
